Twan Swagten (2000) is a Dutch composer. He received his first recognition when his piece ‘Waan’ got performed on the occasion of the gala concert from Fanfare Orchestra Eensgezindheid Maasbracht-Beek conducted by Jos Zegers. He received an invitation for an interview with the local radio broadcaster L1, and there was also an article written about Waan in the Dutch magazine Klankwijzer.
In 2019, Twan won the composition prize of the Royal Conservatoire The Hague and won the second prize at Ricciotti’s Arranging Competition.
Twan recently obtained his Master’s degree in Applied Musicology from Utrecht University, graduating with a thesis titled March Music as a Musical Topic in the Symphonies of Gustav Mahler.
